Diamonds recovered from the Luderitz Bay project of Namco (VSE) have been valued by a leading international firm of diamond assessors.
A total of 1,296 stones, approximately half of the total recovered over the past six weeks at the sea-floor project off the coast of Namibia, were divided into 10 lots for assessment.
The highest value given to a lot was US$297.18 per carat. This excluded a stone of 2.86 carats valued at $1,500 per carat. The lowest value of a lot was US$146 per carat, while the average was US$206 per carat.
