OBITUARIES — Roger Pemberton

Roger Pemberton, former director of geophysics at Noranda Exploration, has died. He was 64.

Mr. Pemberton, a registered professional engineer, graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a bachelor of science in 1953 and a master of science in 1954, before joining Aeroservice Corp. in Philadelphia. He later returned to Canada to join Radar Exploration.

He started with Toronto-based Scintrex in 1968, where he rose to the position of vice-president before becoming chief geophysicist at Noranda in 1973.

He retired from Noranda 20 years later.

Mr. Pemberton is survived by his wife, Doreen, son Roger, and daughters Maryjane and Tina.
