Ditem Explorations (ME) has intersected significant zinc mineralization at its Hemmingford property, 60 km south of Montreal, Que.
The discovery was made on the northern portion of a north-south-trending induced-polarization anomaly.
The first hole, collared on the western flank of the anomaly, intersected 3 metres that ran 4.05% zinc. The second hole, collared 25 metres east of the first, intersected 6.28% zinc over 4 metres, including a 2-metre interval that assayed 9.4% zinc and a 1-metre section that averaged 11.66% zinc.
The mineralization, only 5 metres below surface, is hosted in a brecciated dolomite of lower Ordovician age. It is believed to be a typical Mississippi Valley type occurrence.
Agreements with landowners will enable Ditem to mount a more substantial program to test the full extent of the zinc-bearing anomaly. Other untested anomalies will also be tested when drilling starts in December.
