A surface gold showing, discovered in October, is being drill-tested at the Horwood Twp. property of Morgain Minerals (VSE).
Meanwhile, geophysical surveys have resulted in the discovery of an anomaly parallel to the shear zone that hosts the showing, and 50 metres to the north. The anomaly is 25-35 metres wide and has been traced over a strike length of 300 metres. It is open along strike to the west.
CPX Industries (CDN) and Golden Shield (Nassau) have also acquired ground in the area, roughly 95 km southwest of Timmins, Ont.
The former can earn a 100% interest in a 384-hectare property about 2.5 km north of the showing by spending $200,000 on exploration over two years.
Golden Shield has acquired a 784-hectare property immediately west of CPX’s land package. Magnetic and induced-polarization surveys are to begin in January.
