Expatriate drills Ice

The primary source of near-surface, secondary copper mineralization at its fully owned Ice property in the southeastern Yukon continues to elude Expatriate Resources (EXR-V).

At present, Expatriate is drill-testing a soil anomaly more than 1,300 metres long and 400 metres wide. Results released to date are from an area measuring 240 by 100 metres. Mineralization, which occurs in brecciated or highly fractured volcanics, consists of copper oxides, carbonates and supergene-enriched sulphides. Three holes drilled on the main geochemical anomaly returned the following values:

* Hole 96-4 intersected 23.78 metres of 0.32% copper, beginning at a depth of 10.97 metres. Core recovery from this hole, however, was poor.

* Hole 96-8 cut a 15.5-metre interval grading 1.71% copper, starting at a depth of 12.3 metres.

* Hole 96-9 resulted in a 32.31-metre interval grading 1.13% copper, beginning at 20.73 metres.

Holes 96-5, 7 and 10 tested geological targets outside the anomaly and returned only background numbers.
