EXPLORATION ROUNDUP — Santa Cruz trenches Magistral

A trenching program by Santa Cruz Gold (SCG-T) at the Magistral project in Sinaloa state, Mexico, has identified three gold zones there.

Sampling of the Dos Amigo zone returned 4 metres grading 1 gram gold per tonne, 15 metres of 0.9 gram, and 3 metres of 3 grams. Sampling of an old adit that crosscuts the zone returned 18 metres grading 3.7 grams.

Encouraging results were also reported from the Lucy-Los Cerritos zone, which was tested in three areas by trenching along its known strike length of 700 metres. Results there include 9 metres of 3 grams, 3 metres of 8.2 grams, 12 metres of 3.3 grams, and 48 metres of 0.4 gram.

A series of trenches also tested the Culebra Prieta zone along 200 metres of strike, returning 2 metres grading 3.4 grams, 3 metres of 1 gram and 6 metres of 0.4 gram.

Santa Cruz plans to drill test those zones shortly.

Meanwhile, drilling continues at the Samaniego Hill deposit, one of four known deposits on the Magistral property. Those deposits host inferred resources of 28 million tonnes grading 1.5 grams gold per tonne.
