Solitario drilling hits high grade

Drilling continues at the Canada Onda gold project of Solitario Resources (SLR-T) in Argentina, following the identification of high-grade gold mineralization.

Results of five holes drilled over 756 metres in December 1996 include 2 metres grading 41.5 grams per tonne in hole 2 and 14 metres of 19.9 grams (including another 2 metres of 115 grams) in hole 5. Each of the five holes intersected anomalous gold values.

Based on these and previous drill results, three high-grade structures have been intersected at Canada Onda. The assays, according to Solitario, bode well for future exploration, and a second round of drilling will begin soon.

Solitario can earn a 75% interest in Canada Onda, situated in San Luis province, by spending US$1 million on exploration and paying US$310,000 to the property-owner over six years.
