Historic and current mining operations in Europe and Mexico will be the focus of several tours offered by a British company throughout 1998.
Regions scheduled to be visited include:
* the Iberian pyrite belt of Spain, including mines operated by Rio Tinto.
Stops also will include sites in the Spanish pyrite belt, as well as mines in Portugal;
* British tin and copper mining areas in Devon and Cornwall, as well as coal, gold and lead mines in Wales;
* La Union/Cartagena, Linares and Almeria mining districts of southern Spain; * the Galicia, Asturias and Cantabria mining regions of northern Spain, as well as ancient Roman gold mining sites in Portugal; and
* the Guanajuato, Zacatecas, Fresnillo and Real del Monte mining areas of central and western Mexico.
