NEWS ROUNDUP — Minto drills in Yukon

Drilling by Minto Explorations (MXO-V) will test newly generated targets outside known areas of mineralization at its polymetallic project 240 km northwest of Whitehorse, Y.T.

The company and partner Asarco (AR-N) are developing a mining venture based on a geological reserve of 8.8 million tonnes grading 1.73% copper plus 0.48 gram gold and 7.5 grams silver per tonne. A permanent camp was built in 1998.

Minto will drill six holes in a 940-metre, US$150,000 program designed to test three targets. The drilling is expected to be completed by late March.
