Xemac extends zone at Lac Barry gold project

A drill program by Xemac Resources (XEM-M) has extended the No. 2 gold zone at the junior’s Lac Barry project near Lebel-sur-Quevillon, Que.

One of the holes testing the No. 2 zone returned 89.7 grams gold per tonne over 0.61 metre (at a vertical depth of 363 metres), plus 6.13 grams over 1.22 metres, 5.59 grams over 1.68 metres, and 5.96 grams over 0.91 metre. Another hole returned 1.2 grams gold over 0.92 metre, whereas a third intersected the zone but did not return any significant values.

Recent drilling has extended the zone’s strike to 640 metres and doubled its depth extent to 365 metres. The zone has been tested by 25 holes to date, all of which have encountered the altered porphyry dyke and associated gold-bearing quartz vein zone. Ten of these holes returned gold values of more than 10 grams (over relatively narrow widths). The junior recently added to its land position in the region. It also is acquiring the remaining 66% interest in its Turquesa copper property in Baja California, Mexico.
