NEWS ROUNDUP — Drilling hits gold at Windfall Lake

A 7-hole drilling program by Inmet Mining (IMN-T) has led to the discovery of multiple gold zones in altered, sheared felsic volcanic rocks at the Windfall Lake property in Quebec’s Urban Twp., 100 km east of Lebel-sur-Quvillon.

Junior partners Alto Minerals (ATO-V) and Noront Resources (NOT-V) report that the best two holes of the program returned 65.22 grams gold per tonne over 0.6 metre and 41.62 grams over 1.1 metres. In general, gold values were variable, ranging from narrow intersections with bonanza grades to wide intervals of low-to-anomalous values.

The gold values are related to zones of massive-to-semi-massive sulphides, as well as stringer and disseminated sulphides. Pyrite is the dominant sulphide, and mineralization is described as being “similar to Bousquet-type targets.”

Inmet is planning more work, including drilling, for Windfall Lake and the nearby Alcane property. Alto is planning a first-phase program for its nearby Alcudia property.
