NEWS ROUNDUP — Altavista to drill Philibert property

In mid-June, Altavista Mines (AIA-M) began the first phase of a 5,000-metre drilling program at the Philibert gold property, 50 km southwest of Chibougamau in northern Quebec.

The initial phase of 2,300 metres will test the Philibert horizon’s Zone 106 and a parallel zone by extending previous drill holes. The program is aimed at increasing a known gold resource estimated at 1.4 million tonnes grading 5.3 grams gold per tonne. Meanwhile, Jean Girard has been appointed president and chief operating officer; Guy Hebert will remain as chairman.
