Quintette Operating Corporation, at its 3 million tonnes per year coal mining operation near Tumbler Ridge in the Peace Region of British Columbia, has an opening for the following position:

MINE ACCOUNTANT (FILE: 99-008-S)

Reporting to the Mine Controller, you will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of all accounting functions. You will maintain internal control and information integrity to meet audit standards. Also the successful candidate will provide system and information support to our end users.

Your qualifications will include a Professional Accounting Designation with a University Degree. You will also have five years of progressive accounting experience in the Mining or Resource Industry with a strong computerized accounting background. The ideal candidate shall have strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills. Previous supervisory experience would be an asset.

Quintette Operating Corporation, one of Canada’s largest open pit mines, employs 600 people and is situated in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in north-eastern BC. The community of Tumbler Ridge offers many recreational opportunities for the sports and outdoor enthusiast, including a 9-hole golf course, an aquatic center and camping and hiking wilderness recreation.
