INSIDER TRADING — Quebec pension fund boosts Cambior holdings

Caisse de depot et placement, a Quebec pension fund, bought 250,000 shares of Cambior (CBJ-T) at $4-4.03 each to hold more than 8 million shares directly or indirectly. The fund must report its transactions by virtue of owning more than 10% of the company’s outstanding shares.

Other insider trading transactions reported by the Ontario Securities Commission in its OSC Bulletin include the following:

  • Etruscan Resources (EET-T) — Angus McIssac, director, bought 258,620 shares in a private placement at 58 cents and was granted an equivalent number of warrants, which are exchangeable for shares at $1 each, to hold 709,296 shares and 258,620 warrants.
  • Gammon Lake Resources (GAML-C) — Bradley Langille, director and owner of more than 10%, sold 396,000 shares privately and indirectly at 55 cents to hold none; and Keith MacGillivray, director, exercised 13,400 warrants at 30 cents and sold the resulting shares at $2 to hold 265,850 warrants and 217,125 shares.
  • Manhattan Minerals (MAN-T) — Brian Lock, director, sold 7,500 shares indirectly at $6.10-6.15 to hold 116,830 shares indirectly and directly.
  • TVI Pacific (TVI-T) — Jan Horejsi, director, indirectly bought 594,200 shares in a private placement at 5 cents and was indirectly granted 147,100 warrants priced at 9 cents to hold 2 million shares and 947,100 warrants indirectly; and Wilfred Stokes, officer, bought 117,700 shares at 10 cents to hold 117,500 shares.
