Partners continue work

Australian junior Cratonic has now earned a 51% interest from Consolidated Trillion Resources (TLQ-T) and Nickelodeon Minerals (NKM-V) in the Nguble diamond exploration project in Zimbabwe.

Re-analysis of samples from last year’s trenching and percussion drilling throughout the 4-ha Nguble pipe found a total of 61 rather than 52 macrodiamonds. Thirty-six of these are in the 0.5-1 mm range, with the remaining 25 being in the 1-4 mm size range. Half tend to be clear, Cape-Series octahedral, with the remainder being dodecahedral.

Four 200-kg samples were also collected for microdiamond analysis, yielding 87, 99, 44 and 73 microdiamonds, respectively.

As well, a 100-tonne sample was collected and shipped to Kimberley, South Africa, for processing.

Cratonic will be processing a larger bulk sample through a heavy-media plant due to be on-site and operational by late January. A 4,000-tonne bulk sample has already been collected from open cuts and from four 25-metre deep shafts.
