On Nov. 29, the new Canadian Venture Exchange (CDNX) replaced the Vancouver and Alberta stock exchanges. Companies found listed on either of the old western exchanges are now listed on the new exchange, which will be suffixed to ticker symbols with the abbreviation “V”. (Readers should note that the trading period for this issue, Nov. 24-30, is a combination of the final days of trading on the VSE and ASE on Nov. 24-26 and the first two days of trading on the CDNX, on Nov. 29 and 30).
Companies listed on the Montreal Exchange will remain so until Dec. 6. The changeover of these companies to the CDNX will be reflected in our next issue. Companies listed on the Canadian Dealing Network, part of the Toronto Stock Exchange, will remain there until next year. Also, some companies will remain listed on both the CDNX and TSE until such time as they choose to delist from one or the other.
