Drilling planned for Urbana play

A 19-hole drill program has been recommended to followup newly identified targets at Urbana‘s (URB-V) Macho River gold property in northwestern Quebec’s Urban Twp.

The new targets were identified during a summer program by Abex Geological Services. It consisted of geophysical and geological surveys, trenching, sampling and mapping, as well as re-logging of old core and examination of old workings.

Mapping focused on two shear-zone structures: one mineralized and the other, barren. This work identified a sequence of folded rhyolitic rocks that had not been previously identified. Urbana reports that numerous conductors appear to be associated with these rhyolites.

The summer program also led to a new structural interpretation, suggesting volcanic rocks have been folded around a dome at the centre of the property. The western limb is known historically as the Mil- ner Shear.

Two showings were sampled; returning results of up to 0.32 oz. gold per tonne over 1.5 ft. from one, and 0.72 oz. gold over 3 ft. from the other.

The next phase of work will test both geophysical and geological targets.
