More gold found at Assean Lake

Vancouver — International Curator Resources (IC-T) has intersected a new gold zone at its Assean lake Property, near Thompson Man.

Hole 86 intersected 0.71 gram gold over 13.8 metres starting at a down-hole depth of 34 metres. This interval included a 7.05-metre section that averaged 1.06 grams gold and a 0.9-metre section that ran 4.19 grams gold. The hole was drilled to the northwest at an angle of 45.

The mineralization occurs in a sulphide-bearing iron formation and, according to Curator, represents a new type of gold occurrence at Assean Lake. The hole was collared over a strong magnetic anomaly with a coincident induced-polarization anomaly, 800 metres east of the Hunt zone. The zone has yet to be tested along strike or at depth.

The two closest holes, 85 and 89, were collared 200 metres to the west and 400 metres to the east, respectively. Both intersected anomalous gold values. Hole 85 cut a 0.5-metre interval that averaged 1.82 grams gold at 43.1 metres down-hole, whereas hole 89 cut a 0.65-metre section that averaged 2.14 grams gold starting at 28.7 metres down-hole. Both holes were drilled to the northwest at minus 45.

Four holes were drilled to test the down-plunge extension of the Hunt zone at 100-metre centres. The last hole reported, no. 73, cut only weakly mineralized zones at down-hole depths of 285 and 340 metres. Further drilling at tighter spacings will be required to test the down-plunge extent of the so-called “Hunt shoot.”

Holes 78 and 80 were drilled to test the near-surface, on-strike extension of the B52 zone. Hole 78 cut a 0.35 metre interval that averaged 1.82 grams gold, and hole 80 intersected a 1.1-metre zone that ran 0.45 gram gold. The B52 zone remains open at depth, though it appears to have a limited strike length at surface.

Drilling continues at Assean Lake and will now be more closely spaced to define the new gold-bearing zones. Curator’s winter drill program, which consisted of 37 drill holes totalling 4,612 metres, succeeded in identifying the iron formation gold mineralization, as well as some nickel mineralization. The nickel intersections averaged 0.5% nickel and were anomalous in cobalt, arsenic and chromium.

Curator has earned a 60% interest in the Hunt claims by spending $1.25 million. Future work will be performed on a pro rata basis by 60-40 partners Curator and Rare Earth Metals.
