Platinum property for Cream Silver

Geology favorable for hosting platinum and chromite mineralization has been mapped on claims held by Cream Silver Mines in the Lac des Iles area. Located 50 miles north of Thunder Bay, Ont., the Lac des Iles area hosts Canada’s largest undeveloped platinum- palladium deposit, controlled by Boston Bay Mines. Cream Silver controls several claims adjoining the Boston Bay property.

Rocks displaying up to 3% disseminated pyrite and chalcopyrite have been mapped on the Cream property, the company says. Platinum group metals are closely associated with sulphide minerals in ultramafic intrusives.

A two-phase exploration program has been recommended for the property which will include mapping, trenching, prospecting and geophysical surveys. The program, costing $170,000, is under way and is expected to define drill targets.
