Drill programs of $2.5 million for Golden North

Diamond drill programs to cost approximately $2.5 million have been started on the Nickel Plate Mountain properties of Golden North Resource Corp., near Hedley, B.C.

Golden North says the programs, under the direction of Mascot Gold Mines, will consist of drilling on two separate claim groups, the Mascot Fraction claim, and the Canty group of claims.

Mascot will carry out the work on behalf of Royex Gold Mining Corp., which has put up the $2.5- million funding for the programs.

On the Mascot Fraction, the initial drill program will consist of about 18,000 ft of up-hole and down-hole underground drilling, aimed at establishing the continuation of the favorable host units of the Nickel Plate gold mineralization system onto the Mascot Fraction.

Golden North has established gold bearing reserves of 303,000 tons grading 0.152 oz gold per ton on the Fraction.

On the Canty claims, the work will begin with 5,000 ft of surface drilling to test an area where previous drilling has outlined about 755,000 tons grading 0.107 oz. This program’s primary purpose will be to increase the present drill-indicated ore reserves on the Canty claim group.
