Brohn’s Gilt Edge reserve estimate

An estimate of mineable reserves at the Gilt Edge gold property nea r Lead, South Dakota, has been completed by a consulting engineer. Controlled by Brohm Resources, the property was purchased from Lacana Mining Corp. in 1986.

Brohm reports that, at a cutoff grade of 0.02 oz gold per ton, the property has reserves of 27.5 million tons grading 0.044 oz gold per ton. This reserve figure includes 15.2 million tons of oxide material grading 0.04 oz gold and 12.2 million tons of sulphide material grading 0.049 oz gold per ton. The stripping ratio is 2.65:1.

Heap leach production from the surface oxide zone is scheduled to start in the summer of 1987. Forecast operating life is 5-7 years.
