Prospectors’ course

British Columbia’s Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources will be sponsoring its annual Mineral Exploration Course for Prospectors again this spring. The course runs from April 23 to May 9 at the Cowichan Lake Research Station on Vancouver Island. Oriented towards bedrock prospecting, students will be given practical instruction in geological, geochemical and geophysical prospecting methods.

Some basic training in rock and mineral identification is a prerequisite and registration is limited to 32 people. Low-cost room and board is available at the research station and the closing date is Feb 28.
