Consolidated Reactor Uranium Mines, (which plans to change its name to Canaustra Gold Exploration), says it has started a phase-1 exploration program on its gold prospect in Ontario’s Hemlo area.
The planned program includes linecutting, vlf, em and magnetometer geophysical surveys, as well as geological mapping, stripping, trenching and sampling.
The company says its prospect, located at the east end of the Hemlo greenstone belt, is adjacent to a volcanic centre identified by the Geological Survey of Canada, and suggesting analogy to the one situated 15 miles to the west adjacent to the Golden Giant orebody.
The property is underlain by the same sequence of metasedimentary and overlying metavolcanic rocks hosting the gold mineralization at Hemlo, Consolidated Reactor notes.
In addition to its gold interests, the company says it is pursuing platinum group metal possibilities, and has staked 60 claims comprising 15 sq km in Labrador, where it plans an exploration program.
