Atlantic Report NovaGold going to bulk sample

Approval has been received by NovaGold Resources to proceed with a bulk sampling program at its Fifteen Mile Stream gold property in Halifax Cty., N.S.

The company reports a 20,000- ton bulk sample will be taken from the Plenty zone discovered during the 1986 drilling program. To date, 66 holes have been drilled in this zone with more than 70% of the holes containing visible gold.

The bulk sample will be processed by Seabright Resources at that company’s Gays River mill. Staff at the Seabright mill have completed metallurgical testing of samples from Fifteen Mile Stream and have concluded the mill is capable of processing the bulk sample, NovaGold reports.

“The bulk sample program will assist our geological personnel in determing the best mining method to extract the ore,” NovaGold President Gerald McConnell said. “In addition, valuable metallurgical information will be obtained to optimize the return from future milling processes.”
