Orofino to mine Scadding deposit

Mining operations have begun on Orofino Resources’ Scadding property near Sudbury, Ont. Mining via a decline ramp will produce 120,000 tons of ore grading 0.22 oz gold per ton. Stockpiled ore will then be processed by the 200-ton- per-day Scadding mill.

At the Swayze project, south of Timmins, Ont., a $3.2-million underground program is being considered. This work would attempt to confirm reserve estimates of 242,000 tons grading 0.24 oz within 400 ft of surface.
