A $1-million underground exploration program will be carried out by Aur Resources on the Hewfran property at Desmaraisville in northwestern Quebec.
Surface drilling has outlined ore grade gold mineralization over a strike length of at least 600 ft and to a depth of more than 1,300 ft, the company reports. The best mineralization appears to be below a vertical depth of 650 ft where values of 0.28 oz gold person over 21 ft, 0.32 oz over 19.5 ft, 0.26 oz over 12 ft and 0.19 oz over 14 ft have been encountered.
The program will involve 7,500 ft of drilling and 1,200 ft of drifting, to provide a bulk sample of the mineralization on the 6th level at a depth of 900 ft and the 8th level at 1,200 ft below surface.
Surface drilling will continue; at least three vein structures are being investigated. Access to the zone and the required infrastructure will be made available by Bachelor Lake Gold Mines through its mine on adjacent property.
