New high grade zone for Fairfield Minerals

A second high grade zone has been discovered at Fairfield Minerals’ Logan zinc-silver property 65 miles west of Watson Lake, Yukon. The property falls under a joint venture agreement with Getty Resources.

The mineralized area is located 1,100 ft east of the Main zone and was discovered in holes 87-44 and 45. According to John Stollery, president, visual estimates suggest the grades are similar to those encountered in the Main zone. The discovery area was previously a low priority target so the joint venture’s exploration budget has been increased from $1.2 to $1.5 million.

The mineralized core of the central Main zone has been defined to approximately 2,400 ft in length and a minimum vertical depth of 800 ft. “A portion of this would be amenable to low cost open pit mining methods,” he says.
