Conference will focus on zinc

Critical issues facing the world’s zinc industry, such as recycling growth, environmental reform and changes in society’s use of such materials, will be on the agenda of an international conference Feb. 26-28 in Palm Springs, Calif.

Organizer of the ZINC 2000 conference is the American Zinc Association. Zinc has pervasive use in products as diverse as vitamins, creams, coins and automobiles. Organizers are hoping the conference will help company officials understand the environmental trend sweeping the world, its impact by the turn of the century on the marketplace, and the challenges and opportunities for the industry during the current decade,

It is estimated that more than 30% of all zinc consumed annually is created from recycled material.
