Drilling tests Vaughan gold project

Assay results are now being reported from a diamond drill program on the Vaughan project where Avondale Resources (VSE) and Candela Resources (VSE) are each earning a 25% interest from associated company International Viking Resources (VSE).

The project includes a number of leases immediately east of the Brewer gold mine in Chesterfield Cty., South Carolina. Westmont Mining has operated an open pit, heap leach mine at Brewer since 1987, producing more than 116,000 oz. gold. Current reserves are reported at 3.25 million tons of oxidized ore averaging 0.034 oz. gold per ton.

The first hole of 1992 drilling on the Vaughan property returned 50 ft. grading 0.046 oz. gold from 245-295 ft., 45 ft. of 0.026 oz. gold from 335-380 ft. and 15 ft. of 0.028 oz. gold from 400-415 ft.

Intersections from subsequent holes include 25 ft. grading 0.079 oz. gold from 275-300 ft., 5 ft. of 0.11 oz. gold from 80-85 ft. and 10 ft. of 0.064 oz. gold from 475-485 ft.

The drilling program was focused on the A anomaly near the southwest corner of the property. Based on results to date and previous drilling, the anomaly has now been drilled over a strike length of 130 ft. and remains open to the west and at depth.
