NEWS ROUNDUP — Sherritt makes public offering

Nickel refiner Sherritt Gordon (TSE) says it will make a public offering of shares and warrants worth $60 million.

The offering consists of 7.5 million units priced at $8 per unit. Each unit is made up of one common share and one half of a common share purchase warrant. The warrants, expiring on Oct. 9, 1995, will entitle the holders to purchase common shares at $9.50 per share.

Sherritt Gordon has about 35.1 million shares outstanding and traded recently at $7.75.
