The Bajo El Durazno copper-gold project in Argentina has been awarded to American Resource (USOTC), the California-based company and Argentine state mining company Yacimientos de Agua de Dionisio announced.
Also bidding for the project were Placer Dome and International Musto Explorations, American said.
American, which has other property interests in Argentina, also announced the first gold production from its Mahoma mine and mill in Uruguay. Output of more than 40,000 oz. per year is expected for 1993 and 1994.
