Aber Resources (TSE) has increased to 11 its Lac de Gras kimberlite finds with the discovery of four more pipes on the Diavik landholdings. The program, which included ground geophysics and 4,000 metres of drilling, is 40% complete. Aber says initial samples have been sent to Anamet Services laboratory.
In other news from the territory: — Durga Resources (ASE) has signed an option to earn a 50% interest in diamond claims held by Borealis Exploration (ASE) by spending $500,000. A ground follow-up of circular magnetic anomalies is planned for this summer. — Etruscan Enterprises (VSE) has negotiated a $1-million private placement of shares and warrants at $2.21 per share. Proceeds of the placement will be used to finance diamond exploration on the Hackett River property, owned 54% by Cominco (TSE) and 46% by Etruscan.
— Fortune Minerals (CDN) has staked an additional 22,762 acres in the Lac La Martre area in a 50% partnership with a local prospector. The company has also staked 7,748 acres in the MacNaughton Lake area, 85 miles northwest of Yellowknife.
— Pure Gold Resources (TSE) has closed a private placement of five million special warrants with Credit Lyonnais for proceeds of $3.3 million. The company told shareholders at the recent annual meeting that it will drill about 10 holes on its Humpy Lake joint-venture property, starting the first week in August.
— Tanqueray Resources (ASE) has acquired an option on a 100% interest in the diamond rights to the Gondor and Burnside claims from Metall Mining (TSE). The agreement calls for Tanqueray to make an initial cash payment followed by four annual cash payments. Along with partner Fibre-Klad Industries (ASE), the company is conducting an airborne survey on the northern portion of its Yamba Lake claims under option to Mill City Gold (ASE). It will fly the Gondor and Burnside claims next.
— A syndicate 20%-held by partners Windarra Minerals (TSE) and Westward Explorations (VSE) has completed a 30,000-line-km survey over part of Somerset Island. Based on the results, the Windarra-
Westward joint venture has acquired six new claim groups. Mobilization of crew and equipment to the area, including a diamond drill, is under way. Ontario and Quebec
— WisCan Resources (TSE) has raised $500,000 through a private placement of flow-though shares at 30 cents per share. Proceeds will be used to explore properties in the Le Tac area of Quebec
— KWG Resources (ME) and Ressources Minieres Augyva (ME) have acquired 16,400 acres in Vassan Twp., Que, where geophysical targets have been identified. KWG has also staked another 124 claims in the Temiskaming area with partner Charlim Explorations (VSE).
Alberta and Saskatchewan
— Carlin Gold (ASE) has acquired 10 claims in the Molanosa Arch area of Saskatchewan. Each claim covers a “high-priority” aeromagnetic anomaly. — Takla Star Resources (ASE) and Fairfield Explorations (ME) have formed a joint venture to explore for diamonds in Alberta. The agreement allows Fairfield to earn a 25% interest in Takla’s Christina Lake, Pincher and Legend properties in exchange for 50,000 shares and $350,000 in exploration expenditures.
Under a separate agreement, Fairfield will acquire a 12.5% interest in Takla’s Edmonton and Ram River properties for 200,000 shares and $32,175.
