Caribgold commences work on pair of Cuban projects

Exploration and sampling are under way on Caribgold Resources’ (CDN) Santa Clara and Sierra Maestra properties in Cuba.

Numerous samples from various showings are being processed and a drill program to test priority targets is expected to begin in the first quarter of this year. Heath & Sherwood-Geominera S.A. has been awarded the drill contract.

Caribgold has also contracted Scintrex of Toronto to carry out the reprocessing and “digitizing” of airborne geophysical data collected by the Soviets in the 1970s. These data cover all of Caribgold’s 3,576 sq. km of holdings and are expected to be available by early February. The Cuban projects are a 50-50 joint venture with Geominera S.A., a state-owned company.

In other news, the Toronto Stock Exchange has conditionally approved the listing of Caribgold’s shares, subject to the company fulfiling all requirements of the Exchange.
