INSIDER TRADING — Echo Bay officers active

Two officers of Echo Bay Mines (TSE) exercised options and sold shares in early January.

According to the Ontario Securities Commisssion OSC Bulletin, senior officer John Zigarlick Jr. exercised options to purchase 22,500 shares at $5.75-$8.50 and sold 22,500 shares at $19.00 to hold 5,200 shares. Zigarlick purchased an additional 22,500 options at $5.75-$8.50 to hold 495,240 options. Senior officer Alan Broughton exercised options to purchase 2,000 shares at $4.81 and sold 2,000 shares at US$14.25 to hold 11,500 shares. Broughton also purchased 2,000 options at $4.81 to hold 144,900 options.

Other transactions in December and January include:

American Barrick Resources (TSE) — William Robertson, senior officer, exercised options to purchase 10,000 shares at $7.53 and sold 10,000 shares at an undisclosed price to hold no shares.

Aur Resources (TSE) — Leo Thibodeau, director, exercised options to purchase 75,000 shares at $2.90 and sold 75,000 shares at $5.50-$5.63 to hold 30,000 shares.

Bema Gold (TSE) — Roger Richer, senior officer, exercised options to purchase 55,000 shares at $0.80 and sold 55,000 shares at $1.81-2.04 to hold no shares.

BMR Gold (TSE) — Donald Stratton, officer and director, sold 155,000 shares at $0.50 to hold 289,400 shares.

Cambior (TSE) — Alexander Bissett, senior officer and director of an affiliate, exercised options to purchase 4,000 shares at $7.38-$8.78 and sold 4,000 shares at $21.38-$22.00 to hold no shares.

Dia Met Minerals (TSE) — James Eccott, senior officer and director, sold 1,000 shares at $51.00 to hold 143,000 shares.

Garden Lake Resources (VSE) — Robert Kasner, director, sold 11,500 shares held directly and indirectly at $1.42-$1.92 to hold 3,000 shares.
