In Cuba, Holmer Gold Mines (ASE) has optioned five additional concessions totaling 1,730 sq. km.
Four of the concessions, comprising 1,318 sq. km, are in the Pinar del Rio camp of western Cuba. Holmer is exploring the Dora Francisco property in the same camp. Compilation in the area to date has identified 18 partially exploited deposits and 11 significant copper, silver, lead-zinc-silver, barite and gold showings.
The fifth concession, south of the town of Varadero, will be examined for gold mineralization.
Holmer has raised $540,000 to explore the properties. It could raise an additional $1 million if all its outstanding warrants are exercised.
