Gold values are reported from a drilling program at the West Fork project in Guyana.
Situated in the Cuyuni mining district, the project is owned jointly by Roraima Gold (VSE) and Golden Star Resources (TSE). The 2,400-metre program began in September and, to date, five holes totaling 950 metres have been drilled. The first fence of holes (1 through 3) were drilled 50 metres apart to test a trenched zone that ran 2.47 grams gold per tonne over 51 metres. Hole 3, collared next to the trench, returned a 120.3-metre intersection grading 1.11 grams gold, including 2.04 grams over 19.2 metres. Hole 4 was drilled 200 metres to the west on a second fence of holes, returning 44.35 metres grading 1.35 grams gold.
Six mineralized corridors have been identified by soil geochemistry and trenching, and drilling is focusing on three targets.
