Drilling by American Barrick Resources (TSE) on its Mattawasaga property (T.N.M., Oct. 15/90) in northeastern Ontario has property neighbor Greater Lenora Resources (TSE) excited. Lenora President Robert Kasner told The Northern Miner he is confident a new zone identified by Barrick extends downdip on to his side of the property line. The new zone, Kasner said, is close to the northwest corner boundary of the joint venture property of Lenora (operator) and Inco Gold, a unit of Inco (TSE).
The Mattawasaga property sits east of Barrick’s producing Holt- McDermott gold mine. Barrick is expected to release new property exploration information early in 1991.
Previous drilling by Lenora and Inco on their property has indicated the presence of the downdip extension, Kasner said.
