CDN-listed Eastmain Resources has acquired two 160-acre properties near the Kidd Creek copper-zinc-silver mine in Timmins, Ont.
To acquire the South property, the junior must pay $330,000 over five years. A 10% net profits interest also applies.
The ground is underlain by the same stratigraphy that hosts the Kidd Creek open pit, situated 3 km to the west. In addition, an airborne electromagnetic conductor, coincident with the mine stratigraphy, extends on to the property; this conductor has yet to be drilled.
The North claim group, 3 km northeast of the Kidd Creek mine, was acquired by staking. Previous drilling indicates that it is underlain by altered rocks similar to those that host other gold deposits in the district. The property is close to a major structure, as indicated by an airborne magnetic survey.
