Electra increases capacity at Aurora plant in Nevada

By constructing a gold leaching plant at the Aurora mine near Hawthorne, Nev., Electra Mining Consolidated (VSE) hopes to boost capacity for processing ore, as well as accelerate gold recovery from the existing leach pad.

Plant capacity for leach solution flows has risen to more than 1,000 from 300 gallons per minute. Electra expects to be operating at full capacity within two weeks.

Meanwhile, drilling is under way on a potential open-pit resource — the western extension of the Humboldt orebody, which is adjacent to the pit headwall. The company continues to evaluate the project’s underground resource, currently estimated at 1.5 million tons grading 0.1 oz. per ton (including an estimated 100,000 tons averaging 0.32 oz.)
