A feasibility study regarding the reactivation of the roaster at the old Kerr mill at Virginiatown, Ont., or alternatively the replacement of the roaster with an autoclave pressure- leach system, has been initiated by Deak Resources (TSE). The autoclave would provide custom treatment for various refractory gold ores in Ontario and Quebec. Deak says there are no processing facilities available for handling of these ores in these areas.
A prefeasibility study indicates material from Jonpol Explorations (TSE) and Consolidated Professor Mines (TSE) could be successfully processed in such a facility, Deak says.
In the case of Jonpol, the material would be trucked to the Kerr mill, and a concentrate would be prepared and treated in either the roaster or autoclave.
The Consolidated Professor material would be treated in a proposed Kenora, Ont., area mill which could treat material from the Cameron Lake mine project of Nuinsco Resources (TSE). The Consolidated Professor gold concentrates would be transported to Virginiatown for either roasting or pressure leaching.
Deak says it has had preliminary discussions with Jonpol, Consolidated Professor and Nuinsco regarding a business framework within which the concept could be developed.
