Everton, Globestar advance Bayaguana

Vancouver — Everton Resources (EVR-V) and partner Globestar Mining (GMI-V) have tabled new copper-in-soil results and completed a first phase of drilling at the Bayaguana group of properties in the Dominican Republic.

A 4-hole program on the Trinidad North copper target tested induced-polarization (IP) geophysical conductors, which are coincident with a 1,600-by-300-metre copper-in-soil anomaly. The target is 1.4 km north of the Trinidad South target.

In addition, two holes were drilled at the Dona Amanda copper deposit. The deposit hosts an inferred resource of 45.5 million tonnes averaging 0.45% copper and 0.22 gram gold per tonne. The project consists of a blanket of secondary sulphide mineralization up to 120 metres thick, starting from a depth of 10 metres below surface. The mineralization is hosted in porphyritic and tuff-brecciated dacites related to surrounding Pueblo Viejo-style volcanic domes.

Assay results are awaited, and another round of drilling on this target is planned for March. Lakefield Laboratories will perform metallurgical tests on the two new drill holes.

Meanwhile, a series of copper-in-soil anomalies with values of up to 476 parts per million copper was outlined in a sampling program near the Dona Loretta copper prospect. The anomalies are distributed in three different clusters over an area measuring 2 sq. km. One of the clusters is 200 metres northwest of historical hole CC-07, which intersected 24.14 metres averaging 2.03% copper and 0.3 gram gold. A follow-up exploration program consisting of an IP survey is planned.

In other news, the partners have released results from a first phase of drilling on the Trinidad South prospect. The 19-hole, 1,770-metre program tested targets in an anomalous area measuring 2.5 by 1.3 km. Highlights are as follows:

— Hole 9 — 0.76 gram gold over 5 metres;

— Hole 15 — 0.31 gram gold over 4.45 metres;

— Hole 16 — 0.29 gram gold over 11.13 metres;

— Hole 17 — 0.47 gram gold over 6.25 metres (including a 1-metre section grading 1.92 grams gold);

— Hole 22 — 1.33 grams gold over 1.52 metres.

In March, drilling will focus on new sectors within the Trinidad South anomaly area.

From Globestar, Everton stands to earn a half-interest in the Bayaguana project by spending US$1.5 million over two years. Everton must spend an additional US$500,000 before GlobeStar is required to finance its share of exploration expenditures.
