Fairfield discovers new vein at Siwash gold property

Exploration by Fairfield Minerals (FFD-T) has led to the discovery of a new vein system 650 ft. north of, and parallel to, the main Siwash vein near Merritt, B.C.

Fairfield recently completed a 49-hole, 15,000-ft drill program at the property.

The WD vein system was tested by 24 holes totalling 8,628 ft., for a length of 1,800 ft. and downdip to a maximum of 754 ft. (at 164-by-164-ft.

spacings). Results ranged from below 0.1 oz. to more than 5 oz. gold per ton over relatively narrow intervals. The two widest intervals returned values of 0.126 oz. gold over 12.2 ft. and 0.117 oz. over 29.26 ft.

The discovery is believed to have potential to increase reserves near the existing Siwash mine development.

Total indicated and inferred reserves at Siwash were last reported at 135,000 tons at an average grade of 0.74 oz. gold per ton, containing 100,300 oz.gold.

Fairfield has mined 47,500 oz. from the open pit at Siwash, and, as well, has produced minor amounts from test-mining underground.
