An exploration program by Voisey Bay Resources (VSY-V) and Atlanta Gold (AAG-T) is testing the 4,016-ha Hapsari Indah Kutai property in East Kalimantan, as well as the 15,130-ha Saran property in the western part of the Indonesian island.
At the former, work is focused on a 10-km zone of alteration and mineralization marginal to an intrusive body. Previous sampling of exposed quartz veining and stockworks along this zone returned values of up to 7 grams gold per tonne, plus 0.8% copper, 1% zinc and 0.7% lead.
Exploration targets at Saran are being identified by radar imagery. Gold mineralization found in hydrothermal breccias within an intrusive formation is the primary target. The partners have five other properties in Kalimantan, where the main targets are epithermal and primary hydrothermal gold.
