Drilling on the Tulawaka property in northern Tanzania has revealed more high-grade results for partners
The companies are focusing on the East zone, where resources are pegged at 1.6 million tonnes grading 18.96 grams gold per tonne. A separate structure to the west hosts 736,678 tonnes grading 2.9 grams.
Highlights from recent drilling include:
– hole 117, which averaged 100.9 grams over 2.5 metres (starting at 60.2 metres down-hole);
– hole 113, which averaged 89.55 grams over 1.3 metres (starting at 92 metres);
– hole 59W, which averaged 61.48 grams over 5.9 metres (starting at 128 metres); and
– hole 57W, which averaged 22.6 grams over 8.4 metres (starting at 114 metres).
Hole 110 returned anomalous values between vertical depths of 340 and 380 metres, suggesting that mineralziation remains open at depth.
Mineralization in the East zone is hosted by three gold-bearing quartz veins that individually strike for up to 600 metres for a combined length of 1 km. The known resource extends no deeper than 150 metres below surface.
Barrick operates the project, in which it owns a 70% interest. Minires holds the remainder. Barrick also retains a right-of-first-refusal on its partner’s interest.
