Perron honored

The chief executive officer of Deak Resources, Alex Perron, received a gift from Nova Scotia at the recent PDAC convention in Toronto. The gift is a hand-painted 18-inch china plate edged with 24-carat gold, depicting the Upper Canada No. 2 headframe built by Perron’s father and which will soon be torn down. Making the presentation was Douglas Boddy, who molded and painted the plate. The gift is in recognition of the hospitality Boddy and his partner Heather McMillen received on a trip to Kirkland Lake, Ont., and Perron’s efforts to promote Kirkland Lake and the mining industry in the north.
