Orient drilling in Grevet Twp.

A 2,000-metre drill program has started on a group of claims owned by Ressources Orient (ME) in Grevet Twp., about 35 km north of Quevillon in northern Quebec. The program, operated by Orient, is being funded by two other companies — Serem Quebec and VSM Exploration (ME) which have an option to earn a 60% interest in the claims.

The Orient property is about four kilometres south of three known zinc deposits owned by a joint venture comprising Serem and VSM. The latter companies recently reported a new zinc find on their claims.

According to Orient President Rejean Gosselin, his company’s claims are underlain by mafic volcanic rocks and a 3-channel INPUT anomaly which could have been caused by sulphides. The current drill program will test the electromagnetic anomalies, and follow-up conductors confirmed by recent ground geophysical surveys.

To earn their 60% interest, VSM and Serem must spend $700,000 on exploration work by June 30, 1991. The pair may earn an initial 50% interest by spending $200,000 by June 30 this year.
