Ontario minerals headed by gold

Gold was the top mineral produced in Ontario by value in 1994, repeating its performance from a year earlier.

According to the mineral sector analysis branch of the Ontario Ministry of Northern Development and Mines, the yellow metal was followed by nickel, copper, sand and gravel, and cement.

Rounding out the top 10, in descending order, were stone, zinc, salt, platinum group metals and lime.
