The Colorado-based junior holds an option to earn up to a 65% interest in the recently consolidated, 70,000-acre land package, which covers past-producers (dating back to the 1870s) and known resources and mineral occurrences identified more recently by major mining companies.
Palladon is also continuing efforts to upgrade resources to the reserve category and advance the project to the feasibility stage. This work is focused on four known copper porphyry targets.
The recent geophysical surveys are aimed at delineating major drill targets, including ones previously explored by Palladon and others, as well as targets that will be tested in future.
Palladon has received analyses of data from the first phase of its 3-dimensional induced-polarization survey, with ground magnetics run over a portion of the project. The company says this work revealed that the property contains “significant” IP chargeability and resistivity anomalies associated with, and adjacent to, known deposits and mineralized areas in the eastern part of the property.
The program had four goals: to define the lateral and vertical extent of known copper mineralization; to define new potential areas of copper mineralization; to define continuity between exposed and buried copper mineralization intersected in drill holes; and to define and trace major structures contributing to the mineralizing process.
The company has provided the geophysical contractor with historic and current geologic and drilling data for further analyses in order to refine drill targets. In the meantime, work will continue on more advanced targets.
