Esperanza drills namesake property

Vancouver — Esperanza Silver (EPZ-V) is drill-testing a newly defined silver zone at the La Esperanza project in Mexico’s Morelos state.

Trenching and sampling at the skarn/carbonate-replacement prospect have outlined a 200-metre-long zone that can be traced for a further 600 metres to the south. Plans call for 1,000 metres of drilling to test the initial drill target in the zone, which formed along the contact between limestone and a granite intrusion.

Previous trenching and sampling results include 8.5 metres of 209 grams silver per tonne and 10 metres of 263 grams silver. Sampling of an outcrop returned 4.8 metres of 194 grams silver.

Chip sampling revealed the presence of other mineralized targets along the trend, while silver-quartz veins were identified along the western margin of the intrusion.

Esperanza has other silver projects in Mexico, as well as in Bolivia and Peru. Recently, the Vancouver-based junior discovered a bulk-tonnage silver prospect at its Flor de Loto project in central Peru.

Chip sampling was carried out within a 450-metre-by-80-metre Breccia zone, with all but five of 163 samples returning detectable silver. The highest values were 62 grams and 54 grams silver. Sampling in a mineralized fault returned even higher values, with 13 of 50 samples grading more than 500 grams silver.

The target remains open under a thin layer of soil.
