StrataGold uncovers gold in Guyana

Vancouver — Drilling by Strata-Gold (SGV-T) has defined two sub-parallel zones of gold mineralization at the Black Ridge target, part of the Tassawini project in Guyana.

The Black Ridge target is 250 metres northwest of a potential open pit at Tassawini and comprises a gold-in-soil anomaly measuring 700 by 200 metres.

Results from the ongoing 240-hole drill program will be incorporated into a resource estimate for Black Ridge.

Highlights to date include 24.4 metres (at a depth of 40 metres) grading 3.04 grams gold per tonne, including 6.1 metres of 9.73 grams gold, in hole 170, and 39.6 metres (at a depth of 23.5 metres) grading 1.12 grams gold in hole 173.

StrataGold also proposes drilling the Tassawini East and West zones in order to test the extent of gold mineralization.

The gold is hosted by sheared and mylonitic sediments in contact with mafic volcanics. Strata-Gold believes the region shares its origin with the far-removed metasedimentary Birimian terrane in West Africa.
